BOOKS

The Church that never sleeps'. (Matthew Barnett)

As a young boy this preacher's son had a dcream of a church that would be open 24/7 throughout the year. This is a thrilling account of how God can take ordinary people and work through their failures and confusions to help us realise our dreams. A book to read given Josh McDowell's commendation. ''cutting-dege ministry that is setting the trend for the church in the 21st century"

'Surprised by Jesus: His agenda for changing everything in AD 30 and today' Tim Stafford. IVP. an excellent and stimulating introduction to the Gospel. 'Tim Stafford takes us beyond two-dimensional images and false stereotypes by unearthing the specific historical and cultural situation of Jesus day'. (Tim Stafford is a senior writer for Christianity Today and is co-editor with Philip Yancey of The Student Bible)

'Meet the Neighbours'. A resource from Gweini (the Council of the Volunbtary Sector in Wales). Highly recommended by Joel Edwards of Micah Challenge and lyndon Bowring of CARE. Edwards says "Providing a lively combination of information on the one hand and personal stories of real projects on the other I believe 'Meet the Neighbours' will prove to be an invaluable tool for church leaders and members embarking upon the journey of community transformation".

"90 Minutes in Heaven"(A True Story of Death and Life) By Don Piper with Cecil Murphy.

Don piper was involved in a horrendous car accident and pronounced dead immediately by paramedics. His lifeless body remained in his car while he experienced heaven in all it's beauty but a passing minister felt constrained to pray for him and 90 minutes later he miraculously breathed again. This is his testimony, story of recovery and witness to all he saw in those 90 life-changing minutes, an encouragement to all who have lost loved ones or are recovering from serious injury.            Available from Amazon.co.uk (new and used), also W H Smith and other leading book stores.

The Lord of Bella Vista by David Miller. This is the amazing account of what happened when the Gospel impacted one of the most violent prisons in the world. In 1989 a riot broke out that would have certainly resulted in a massacre if the Warden had not allowed a former inmate to hole a prayer meeting inside. If you want to have your faith strengthened then get hold of this fantastic book.

DVD's

'Indescribable' with Louie Giglio. This amazing video captures something of the majesty of God as it offers us a insight into the wonder and immenisty of creation. This image-rich journey allows us to peer into God's universe and to discover the amazing magnitude of His grace.
