Welcome in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
As we enjoy, or shelter from, the heat of this summer time where each part of the United Kingdom swelters in 30°C temperatures, it reminds us of our frailty. Without protection, just 30°C higher and we would die and just 30°C colder, when water freezes, we would die. We live life on an environmental knife edge, but our bodies have been designed to cope very well in harsh environments. With a slightly less severe range of temperatures our bodies regulate to maintain our internal temperatures. However, when the environment becomes extreme, our brains take over and we are then able to devise all sorts of amazing things that enable us to maintain our body’s temperature. We should praise God at every turn for the unbelievable complexities of our bodies.
I will praise thee;
for I am and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well.
